Drinks


Berry Yogurt Shake (3 - 4 smoothies)

In a blender container puree...
2 c plain fat-free yogurt
2 ripe med bananas
1 c sliced fresh strawberries or unsweetened frozen strawberries
1 c mixed fresh berries, such as raspberries, blueberries, and/or blackberries or unsweetened frozen mixed berries

Turn your smoothie into a luscious frozen dessert. Pour the blended smoothie into a glass bowl and cover. Freeze for 45 to 60 minutes, till mixture is thickened, but not frozen, stirring a couple of times in between. Grab a spoon and enjoy.

Egg Nog Supreme (Make this the night before in a punch bowl)

In a large punch bowl combine:
12 egg yolks
1 c granulated sugar
Beat til lemon colored and thick.

Then slowly add:
13 oz brady } add rum flavoring
26 oz rye or rum } to taste
2 c light cream
Beat to blend well and chill one hour or over night to allow egg to mellow.

12 egg whites
3 c whipping cream
Beat egg white until stiff. Beat 3 c cream in a large bowl, fold in egg whites, then add to egg yolk mixture in punch bowl. Sprinkle with grated nutmeg and place sprig of holly on top.
Before serving add at least 2 qt skim milk. Then add vanilla flavoring to taste.


Raspberry Cheesecake Shake

1 12-oz pkg frozen unsweetened red raspberries, thawed
1 3-oz pkg cream cheese, softened
1/4 tsp almond extract
1 quart vanilla ice cream, softened
2 12-oz cans or bottles cream soda
Fresh raspberries (optional)

1. In a blender combine the raspberries, cream cheese, almond extract, half the ice cream, and 1/2 cup of the cream soda. Cover and blend until smooth.
2. Divide blended mixture among 5 tall 16-oz chilled glasses. Add a scoop of the remaining ice cream to each dink. Top each drink with remaining cream soda. Top shake with fresh raspberries. Serve immediately. Makes 6 servings.


Strawberry Banana Shake


1-1/2 c rice milk
3/4 c frozen strawberries
1-1/2 frozen banana
1/2 tsp vanilla
maple syrup to taste

Whiz all ingredients in a blender. Serve immediately . Shake should be fairly thick.


Pina Colada Smoothie

1 c pineapple/coconut juice
1/2 c apple or OJ
1-2 frozen bananas
1/2 c frozen strawberries

Pour juices into a blender. Add fruit & blend well.


Fruit Milk


2 c pineapple or OJ
2 med bananas

Mix in blender. Serve over cereal in place of milk.


Strawberry Daqaris

2 pkg strawberry koolaid
12 oz frozen lemonade
2 c sugar
9 c water
3 c frozen/fresh strawberries

Blend strawberries with 1 c water from 9 c water. Mix koolaid with H20, then lemonade w/ rest. Mix all together w/ rest. Mix all together. Freeze it. Stir after 3 hours. Freeze until slushy.


Instant Chai Mix

1/2 c sugar
2/3 c instant tea mix
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp coriander
1/2 tsp cloves

1 (1-pint) decorative food storage container.
Step 1: In med bowl, combine all ingredients except container; mix well
Step 2: Carefully pour mixture into container. Include instant chai recipe
1-1/4 c mix; 10 servings


Instant Chai


2 T instant Chai Mix
1/2 c boiling water
1/4 c warm milk
Spoon mix into cup. Pour boiling water over mix, stir to blend. Stir in warm milk. 1 (3/4 c) serving
